How to generate a favicon
Upload a square logo (512×512 or larger is ideal). Download the multi-size favicon.ico and the PNG sizes, then paste the shown <link> tags into your site's <head>.
Non-square images
The centre square of your image is used, so keep the important part in the middle.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens inside your browser on your own device, so your files never leave your computer and there is no file-size limit imposed by a server. Very large files are limited only by your device's memory.
Which sizes do I need?
A favicon.ico (16/32/48), a 32×32 PNG, and a 180×180 Apple touch icon cover nearly every case. The 192 and 512 sizes are for Android and web app manifests.
